Minutes
Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Carol Gossett-Cooper.
Present: Carol Gossett-Cooper, Arlene Becken, Glen & Lorene Morrow, Glenda Kirkpatrick, Connie Goins, Cammi Veenstra.
Minutes from September 27, 2005 read and approved with the exception of what to do if EHS Alumni were to disband. After further discussion it was decided to invite Brad Little and Sandy Salskov to our next meeting to answer questions about the organization they participate in, and to put something in the next annual newsletter asking for feedback from current members as to what they think should happen with the money if EHS Alumni Association were to disband. Discussion was tabled until September meeting.
Financial statement 8-31-05 to 4-25-06 was reviewed and approved.
NEW BUSINESS:
Connie Goins volunteered to fill the board of director seat which was vacant due to the passing of Louie Foruria. Carol Gossett-Cooper made the motion to accept Connie Goins, Arlene Becken seconded, motion carried. Connie Goins also brought with her to the meeting 3 new memberships. It was revealed by Cammi Veenstra that EHS Alumni Association now has a new website thanks to Robert “Skip” Hayes (class of 1965) www.emmetthighalumni.org and encouraged everyone to check it out and spread the news. Skip is doing this all free of charge and it is a major plus for the Association. It was discussed to offer current members in our next newsletter the option to receive annual newsletter via email, which would save time and money. We will see what type of feedback is received before doing anything further.
It was decided to give 4 scholarships away this year instead of our normal 3 since one scholarship from last year did not get used (Jessica Gurney), continuing with $300 amounts. The four scholarship winners were: Alex Corn, Megan Rolland, Kim Russell and McKenna Nuttall.
Carol Gossett-Cooper made the motion to adjourn, Lorene Morrow seconded. Meeting was adjourned at 8:20 pm.
Next meeting – Monday September 25, 2006, 7:00 p.m. Emmett High School. Agenda will be election of officers.
