You are here: Classes » 1972 Class of '72 As student body president, Steve Radke led us through our freshman year as the class 1972. Aiding him in governing the school were sergeant-at-arms, Dewey Bowman; social chairman, Connie Mabe; and secretary, Nikki Newell. As sophomores we entered Emmett High School and soon joined into the spirit and activities. Leading us as sophomores were president, Jim Thielges; vice-president, Steve Thayn; secretary, Pam Sorenson; and representatives, Laurie Madarieta and John McLinn. Mr. Karl Salskov and Mrs. Kathy Mitchell acted as our advisors in guiding us in our various activities. One of the activities we participated in was the making of a float for the Homecoming parade. The theme for Homecoming was "It's a Small World". We took second place with our float entitled "Whip 'em Huskies". Another activity we sponsored as sophomores was the producing of the play, "Run Robber, Run". Under the direction of Mr. Joe Gratton, the play was presented to the student body and was well received. In addition to the money brought in by the play, we held candy sales every noon for two weeks. With this money we then sponsored the Tip-Off dance during the basketball season. During our junior year we were led by president, Dave Dean; vice-president, John McLinn; secretary-treasurer, Debbie Towne; and representatives Debi Brown and Tom Eiguren. Advising us were Mr. Ron Noble and Mrs. Terry Schiaich. We again entered a float in the Homecoming parade; this time, taking first place honors with our float, "The Goose That Laid the Rotten Egg". Also we held a magazine sale to raise money for the Junior-Senior Prom which we sponsored in April. The theme of the prom was "The Threshold of Spring". In our final year at E.H.S. we choose as our leaders president, Cris Reynolds; vice-president, Alan Hyde; secretary-treasurer, Paula Hoburg; sergeant-at-arms, Dale Holbrook; and representatives, Debi Brown and John McLinn. Helping us to make it through our final year and graduation were Mr. K. Leonard Pratt and Mr. Wayne Rexford, our advisors. Student body officers were president, Dave Dean; vice-president, Tom Eiguren; secretary, Colleen Hadley; and advertising manager, RaNae Rekow. Among our activities as seniors we demonstrated our superiority once again by capturing first place honors in the Homecoming parade. We also worked on the play, "Rest Assured" which is a comedy spoof on the hereafter. We continually worked towards getting a senior sneak. For our money making project we sponsored the annual senior movie, and then as is tradition with seniors, we visited the Idaho State Legislature and ended our high school days with the graduation ceremonies.
