Class of '74

The following was taken from the 1974 Squaw Butte Saga ...

The start of our sophomore year at E. H. S. proved to be an exciting one.  We started becoming involved in the activities starting off with Homecoming. We entered a float in the Homecoming Parade named “The Bigger They Are the Harder They Fall” and won second place.  Then we sold fire extinguishers for our moneymaking project.  Our class officers were: president, Steve Carroll; vice-president, Mark Bryan; secretary-treasurer, Sue Savola; sergeant-at-arms, Jim Grubb: class representatives, John Turner and Dave Sanders.  Mr. Jack Seifert and Mrs. Sue Gunter (Miss Sue Brown) were our class advisors.

During our junior year we again entered a float in the Homecoming Parade and won third.  The junior girls challenged the senior girls to a Powderpuff Football Game; we lost, but we had a lot of fun trying. We sponsored the annual magazine drive in which we did well, but we did not quite reach our goal of $2,000.  Wilbur Charters was our head salesman.  Then in the spring we sponsored the Junior-Senior Prom.  Our class officers were: Mark Bryan, president; Steve Carroll, vice-president; JoAnne Rohrbacher, secretary; Robin Reynolds, treasurer;  and our advisors were Mrs. Alice Greenfield and Mr. Ron Noble.

Our senior year started off to be an exciting one. We entered our float in the Homecoming Parade again but did not place. We were challenged by the junior girls to the Powderpuff Football Game and we beat. We attended the Legislature as is usually done by the graduating seniors.  Helping us through our last year at E. H. S. were Mr. Wayne Rexford and Mr. Leonard Pratt, our advisors.  Our class officers were: Jeff Jordan, president; Wilbur Charters, vice-president; Debbie Wolsleben, secretary-treasurer; Bob Suyehira, sergeant-at-arms; and Sue Savola and Kenny Henderson, representatives. Graduation was planned for May 26.  All in all, we enjoyed our years at E. H. S. and are looking forward to meeting the world.
