You are here: Classes » 1976 Class of '76 The following was taken from the 1976 Squaw Butte Saga ... We entered the halls of E.H.S. as sophomores in 1973 and began our high school years by electing our class officers. They were: Bob Thielges, president; Corby Martin, vice-president; Pam Dunlap, secretary-treasurer; Teena Evans, sergeant-at-arms; Katie Rood and Dave Bryan, representatives. Our advisors for the year were Mr. Paguegui and Mr. Ryals. "Crush the Pirates" was the theme for our first Homecoming float; it placed second. Our junior year was a year of big plans and the realization of many goals. Our officers for the year were: Allen Brown, president; Kevin Kimball, vice-president; Jodi Huntsinger, secretary; Teena Evans, treasurer; Chuck White, sergeant-at-arms; Pam Dunlap and Paul Robinson, representatives; Mr. Puschmann and Mr. Bois were our advisors. Our Homecoming float, "Impitch the Senators," again received second place. Teena Evans and Bob Thielges served as Prom Chairmen and the decision was made to hold the Junior-Senior Prom at the Rodeway Inn in Boise, along with a pre-dance banquet. Needing more money than was in the treasury, the year was spent in many fund-raising activities, ranging from selling magazines and light bulbs to having car washes. The all-important day arrived on May 3, 1975, and the Prom was termed a success by all who attended. Seniors at last! For this, our last year at E.H.S., the officers were: Paul Robinson, president; Kevin Kimball, vice-president; Jodi Huntsinger, secretary-treasurer; Pam Dunlap and Allen Brown, representatives. Our advisors were Mr. Bois and Mrs. Welberg, to whom we have the deepest gratitude. Our Homecoming float, "Huskie Declaration to Win," was the object of many hours of hard work, but it only placed third. The seniors retaliated this loss, however, with a whopping victory over the junior girls in the annual Powderpuff game, ending in a final score of 46-6. We feel many emotions as we leave Emmett High for the last time: happy memories of hall gossip, the final moments of desperation before a dreaded test, and anxious anticipation as we gaze into the future. We are the Class of '76! Jodi Huntsinger Colors: Red, White, and Blue Flower: Red Rose and Baby Breath Motto: Live for today ... yesterday is but a dream ... and tomorrow, a vision of hope. |
